Considering applying for a grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission? All NBRC programs require a pre-application through our Grants Management System. Use the following resources to help prepare your pre-application materials for the NBRC's Catalyst, Forest Economy, or Timber for Transit programs.

2026 Timber for Transit Overview and Project Development Webinar

Join the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) for an webinar covering the 2026 Timber for Transit program, which is expected to make up to $14 million available for competitive awards supporting the use of advanced wood materials in transportation infrastructure. This session will walk participants through the two funding tracks: Feasibility Awards of up to $1,000,000 for early‑stage planning and assessment activities, and Implementation Awards of up to $5,000,000 for construction and non‑construction projects that advance Timber for Transit priorities.
Attendees will learn what distinguishes feasibility from implementation projects, how to meet the higher‑maximum criteria for awards over $1,000,000, and what NBRC looks for in competitive proposals—including alignment with program priorities, readiness, budget details, and project visibility. Catalyst Grant Program Information Session

This information session will provide details to help interested applicants determine their readiness and eligibility for the Catalyst Grant Program, changes for the 2026 year, and details for completing and submitting the pre-application. Participants are asked to view the NBRC Program Overview Series before attending this information session. The Program Overview Series along with other program materials will be available no later than 1/23/2026.
Forest Economy Program Information Session
